Casework

Casework is the major cornerstone upon which our activities are built. Every month, at our committee meetings, we discuss current and ongoing planning and listed building applications, enforcement cases and local development issues, for the whole Parish of Ringwood, both inside and outside of the New Forest National Park.

For applications which are worthy of positive comment and those which could be developed further, we make representations to the relevant Local Planning Authority (New Forest District Council or New Forest National Park Authority), and those comments are taken into consideration by the planning and conservation officers who are assigned to each case. We have built a reputation since 1962 as a responsible and informed body and our views are seriously considered and our opinions are sought on many planning and amenity matters.

It is difficult for individuals to influence public decisions, but collectively we can form an effective channel for our member’s opinions.
